Step by step
- Enter the destination URL in the QR-code tool and check that it opens the intended page.
- Keep the code's light border and avoid adding decorative beads over the modules.
- Use clearly contrasting light and dark colors; inspect the full pattern before making it.
- Test the exported pattern with a phone, then test the assembled piece again under realistic lighting and viewing distances.
Why shorter URLs help
More encoded text generally needs a denser QR symbol. A short stable URL can keep the design easier to build and scan. Check that the destination will remain available; changing a page later does not change the data already encoded in the beads.
What can break scanning
Low contrast, a damaged border, misplaced beads, reflections and uneven melting can affect readability. Avoid using a decorative result as the only way to access important information: include a readable URL alongside it.
Common questions
Can I remove the empty border?
Keep the generated light border. It separates the QR symbol from surrounding objects and is part of making the code detectable.
Can you guarantee every finished piece will scan?
No. Physical bead placement, colors, lighting and finishing change the result. Scan-test the actual object before giving it to someone.
